Maliang Writer's AI agents split novel writing into planning, drafting, archiving and diagnosis. You can review, edit or undo any step and steer the story.
Why a Novel-Writing AI Needs a Division of Labor
If one chat box has to be the planner, writer, record-keeper and editor all at once, long novels usually hit three problems later on: it forgets what was already written, the style drifts into a template, and nobody checks the changes.
Maliang Writer separates these jobs:
- Discussion and planning: talks through plot direction with you and builds a master outline, volume outlines and chapter outlines as needed, without creating levels you didn't ask for
- Drafting: a dedicated writer agent reads the earlier text and the archives relevant to this chapter, then writes from the chapter outline
- Archiving: after each chapter, it records changes to characters, items, numbers, foreshadowing and in-story dates based on the text
- Diagnosis and revision: on request, checks chapter problems, typos, name spellings, chapter endings and AI flavor, and gives exact locations and fixes
The point of the split is not “more hands.” It is that every job has a clear input and a result you can check.
You Can Step In at Every Stage

The agents do the work; you make the calls:
- Before-and-after comparison: when AI edits a chapter you have open, the editor shows a before/after comparison right away, and you can keep or revert each part
- Undo and redo: you can undo the current round to restore the manuscript to the way it was before that message, or change your request and resend it
- Ask before writing: when the direction is unclear, the agent asks first and offers suggested options
- Choose your sources: use @ to reference chapters, characters and settings in your book so this round follows them
- Pick models separately: planning the plot and drafting the prose can use different large models
Undoing a round also rolls back any manual edits made after that message, and the interface explains what will be restored before you confirm.
